The off-camera and the unsaid through the “commentary works” of the “That you like” exhibition
Motifs, n°4 “Off-screen and unsaid in the text and image”
Based on our exhibition That You Like (2017), this text offers an analysis of the off-camera and the unsaid in the text and the image simultaneously, thanks to the intervention of the commentary-artworks which are, like Nathalie Sarraute's Fruits d'or (1963), artworks which contain within themselves the comments and interpretations of their own spectators, and are made up of nothing more than that. The unsaid and the off-screen thus enter the heart of the artwork, moving the limits of the field.
